Increasing traffic to a website involves more than submitting your pages to search engines. There are many other things that one can do to successfully promote the site. In addition to the information in your web pages, this can include how you deal with the people who view your web pages. Here are some things you can do to effectively promote your website.

When you visit web pages that relate to your subject, ask for an agreement to exchange links on your pages. Be sure that you inspect the site enough to know that their content "fits" with yours. Check out their links page to make sure no links go to pages you don't want associated with your website.

Emails: We make sure that your email is encoded to minimize spam. Forms: There are programs known as 'spam-bots' that leech through the web pages looking for web forms. When found, those 'bots' just fill the fields with a spam message and submits. Eventually you will start getting many hundred submissions send by those spam bots, and you will find it difficult to separate genuine submissions from spam messages. The solution for this problem is to use a mechanism to identify human submitters from 'bots'. CAPTCHA is one of such tests.

It is impressive to clients and customers if you respond within 24 hours. There are automatic email responders that can do this if you aren't able to check your email on a daily basis. It is less personal, but is still a validation that their message has been received.

Have a section on your site to include positive messages you have received. Scan in those appreciative and complimentary letters. Copy and paste the best of your emails. Glowing accolades will impress the passers-by. Be sure to include any awards or recognition you have received.
